12 Hours of Temecula #1 Round #1

We raced the three man open class as "Where the Fox Hat" and out of 20 teams in this class we placed a respectable 6th placeand completed twelve ~9 mile loops in the process. Simi Cycle Centers 3 man team topped us with a 4th place finish and 13 laps completed. The teams in first place were Don's Bikes and Cycopath with 15 laps.
The weather was prefect with a light rain in the morning just enough to keep the dust down and the trails stick. This course was new compared to the typical route and was really fun and fast. As opposed to the dreaded "dam climb" that is usually included and will make you a believer in the benefits of advil.

As I was sick and couldn't race, we entered a three man team comprised of Art VanNoppen, Tim Bess, and Mike Johnston, who performed like a well oiled machine. The men kept a blistering pace on the course, as well as in the transitions. I am honored to have served as team support for these brave men as they silently pedaled through the hours. My duties were to keep the bikes lubed and tuned, make sure they refueled between laps, and to keep their spirits up. For those who would like to bear witness to such an incredible feat, we welcome you out to the next 12 Hours of event to be held up in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains at Snow Valley.
